MD Anderson Cancer Center Vice President, Hospital Operations in Houston, Texas

The Vice President, Hospital Operations (Inpatient Services) is responsible for all Inpatient Operations through strategic and operational leadership for the inpatient clinical services across the continuum of care. The VP will evaluate and lead strategic initiatives regarding future growth and expansion and will collaborate extensively with key stakeholders in the delivery of clinical service. Additionally, serves as a dyad with the VP, Inpatient Medical Practice in support of inpatient operations.

  • Social Work

  • Rehabilitation Services

  • Admissions

  • Emergency Room

  • Off-Shift Administration

  • Acute Care Services Administration

  • Perioperative Enterprise

Essential functions include:

  • Responsible for the oversight of inpatient hospital operations.

  • Responsible for the fiscal administration and integrity of inpatient operations.

  • Responsible for the effective allocation and usage of facilities resources.

  • Works with appropriate direct reports from Hospital, Medical, and Divisional Operations to insure that all ancillary support and facility operations are functioning effectively and in support of both patient care and research objectives.

  • Trains, coaches, and monitors direct reports on technical and operational functions, policies and procedures.


  • Ten years of experience in hospital operations as a senior leader, with at least five years in leadership role leading multidisciplinary teams, preferably in an academic healthcare system.

  • Master's degree in Healthcare, Business or related field.

  • Strong healthcare finance acumen.
