MD Anderson Cancer Center Postdoctoral Fellow - Epigenet & Mol Carcinogenesis in MDA-On-Site, United States

The Ishak laboratory at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow to join the team within the Dept. of Epigenetics and Molecular Carcinogenesis. The candidate will independently lead projects that expand the lab's work to understand the role of repetitive elements during initiation of ovarian high grade serous carcinoma, and the exploitation of repetitive elements as therapeutic targets.

The ideal candidate would have a publication record that demonstrates successful completion of projects focused on molecular biology, cancer epigenetics, and/or immunology. Ideal candidates will demonstrate proficiency with CRISPR, cell culture, quantification of RNA/protein expression, and low-input epigenetic techniques such as CUT&RUN. Proficiency with all listed techniques is not a must, but the ability to learn and adopt new techniques is required. Basic proficiency with R and/or python to analyze results is preferred. Candidates will lead the adoption of new techniques in the lab.

Candidates should demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills required to establish a collegial and productive environment. Candidates will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and mentor new lab members.

• Lead the training and mentorship of new lab members

Recent Ph.D. (no more than one-year post-award) with publication record demonstrating proficiency in designing, executing, and communicating projects focused on molecular biology, cancer epigenetics, and/or immunology.
