MD Anderson Cancer Center Jobs

Job Information

MD Anderson Cancer Center Postdoctoral Fellow - Molecular & Cellular Oncology in MDA-On-Site, United States

Postdoctoral positions are immediately available. These positions offer an exceptional opportunity to study epigenetic regulation of cancer. The research in the laboratory focuses on understanding the roles of epigenetic modifiers in regulating cancer-epigenetic events. In particular, we seek to identify novel functions of epigenetic modifiers (with an emphasis of histone methylation modifiers) and their new partner proteins in tumor suppression, tumorigenesis and cellular differentiation. In fact, we have discovered new histone methylation modifiers, characterized histone methylation modifiers as a stemness or differentiation factor, and identified histone methylation modifiers/readers as oncogenic factors or tumor suppressors. Some of our selected publications include Nature Commun (2022), Cancer Cell (2020), Nature Commun (2019), Molecular Cell (2018), Molecular Cell (2016), J Clin Invest (2013), Genes & Dev (2012), Cell (2007), and Science (2007).

We closely collaborate with many outstanding groups in The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Baylor College of Medicine, Harvard University, and other prestigious institutes in the US.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Study the epigenetic mechanism underlying tumorigenesis.

  • Focus on defining the roles of epigenetic modifiers (with an emphasis of histone methylation modifiers) in tumor suppression, tumorigenesis and cellular differentiation.

  • Lead to a better understanding of the epigenetic molecular basis underlying tumorigenesis and may provide cancer- therapeutic insights to target and treat cancer.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

A Ph.D. and publications in the field of cancer biology or molecular biology or epigenetics are required. A recent Ph.D. (no more than 2-3 years) is preferred.
