Job Information

MD Anderson Cancer Center Postdoctoral Fellow - Translational Molecular Pathology in MDA-On-Site, United States

The Huse laboratory seeks to understand the molecular pathogenesis of primary brain tumors and brain metastases and is particularly interested in how epigenetic and gene-regulatory mechanisms influence these disease processes. Currently we are seeking a postdoctoral fellow to engage in basic and translational research projects aimed at elucidating the epigenetic factors driving malignant glioma and brain metastasis formation. For these studies, a variety of cell line and in vivo modeling systems will be utilized, and genetic and pharmacologic approaches will be applied to perturb genes and pathways of interest. Training will also involve the application and refinement of computational workflows in the analysis of large-scale genomic/epigenomic data.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

-Competency/competences in relevant laboratory techniques that will equip the postdoctoral fellow for a career path in functional genomics/epigenomics to include cell line and in vivo modeling approaches, genetic manipulation, and relevant biochemical/molecular approaches.

-Competency/excellence in relevant computational workflows for the analysis of large-scale genomic/epigenomic data.

-Refinement of written and oral communication skills through manuscript and grant submission, along with the regular delivery of oral presentations to a variety of audiences within and outside of the institution.

-Refinement of mentorship skills through supervision of junior lab members.
