MD Anderson Cancer Center Administrative Director - MDA UTMB Galveston in United States

MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking an Administrative Director in the MDA UTMB Galveston location. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Management or related field and five years of section, department management, or project management experience. Five years of outpatient ambulatory operations experience is preferred.

Candidates with Epic experience, budget knowledge, and prior UTMB experience are a plus.

SUMMARY:

Serves as the primary on-site administrator for regional ambulatory operations in/around the metropolitan Houston area. Impacts administrative and management decisions for operations within the assigned center. Administrative Director will work in dyad relationship with Center Medical Director(s) within assigned center to achieve operational, financial, customer experience and outcomes goals.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Operational Finance:

• Responsible for all revenues and expenses associated to the assigned ambulatory operating areas, including but not limited to clinic, ambulatory treatment centers, radiation treatment centers, surgical procedures, and clinical support services.

• Oversees the administrative responsibilities of the revenue cycle of assigned operations, including customer service, insurance authorization, scheduling, charge capture, billing compliance and accounts receivables.

• Provides guidance and advice to providers and managers on center and individual budgeted activity and actual activity on an ongoing basis.

• Responsible for collaborative decision-making, planning and forecasting of all financial and budgetary matters.

• Develops, implements and manages effective clinic template s and treatment schedules for the assigned ambulatory areas to ensure compliance with policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiencies.

Operations Planning & Management:

• In collaboration with regional administration, the Director of Operations, and Center Medical Director, develops short-term and long-term business and operations plans for regional operations.

• Serves as the chief asset officer for the assigned ambulatory operations.

• Manages the operations' physical resources including space planning, inventory control and property maintenance.

• Interfaces with the information systems support group to resolve computer hardware and software problems.

• Supports the HAL administration by providing requested information and documentation develop short and long-range goals and devising collaborative strategies for resource acquisition and allocation.

Customer Experience and Quality:

• Serves as the chief experience officer for the assigned regional operations.

• Develops, implement s and manages effective administrative processes, policies and procedures to ensure operational and quality outcomes.

• Develops, administers and manages the process improvement initiatives and programs.

• Works with directors and managers to develop plans and monitors the progress of those plans to ensure faculty and patient satisfaction.

• Designs and implements systems and processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of service and product quality.

Human Resources & Practice Management:

• Provides faculty support and relations working with HAL administration, Director of Operations, and Center Medical Director and academic departments on issues including faculty recruitment, space allocation, and personnel support.

• Organizes and leads new employee and new provider orientation and onboarding experiences.

• Provides guidance and advice to faculty member s regarding space, financial resources and personnel issues.

• Coordinates the daily human resources administration including recruitment, promotions, new faculty credentialing at local hospitals.

• Maintains and distributes physician, non-physicians provider and administrator on-call schedules in compliance with MD Anderson policy and procedure and local hospital requirements.

• Administers and manages timekeeping for all personnel.

• Serves as liaison for MD Anderson Volunteer Services volunteers in the region.

• Coordinates with MD Anderson Physician Network on physician and physicist employment terms, time off requests, and genera l human resources and support.

Community Integration:

• Serves as the primary administrative liaison to outside organizations (e.g. community hospital administration, local community organizations) regarding day-to-day clinical l and business operations.

• In collaboration with internal and external parties, manages local and regional community relations and programs including all marketing, communications, events and related administrative activities.

• Represents the organization on local and regional chamber, economic development and other such civic organizations.

Education

Required: Bachelor's degree in Management or related field. May substitute required education degree with additional years of equivalent experience on a one to one basis.

Preferred: Master's level degree

Experience

Required: Five years of section or department management experience or project management experience.

Preferred: Five years of outpatient ambulatory operations experience.
